Tommy Cattin is a dance artist who works as performer, choreographer and teacher internationally.
Between 2018 and 2019, Tommy completed an apprenticeship period with Black Box Dance Company in Denmark. He then took part in the Biennale di Danza in Venice, where he experienced 3 months of somatic practices and performed Trisha Brown's Set and Reset and a new creation by A. Sciarroni.
As part of his artistic journey, Tommy was able to experience collaborations and teaching with artists such as Alessandro Sciarroni, Trisha Brown Company, Igor & Moreno, Fabio Liberti, Marie Brolin-Tani, Jason Mabana, Theo Clinkard, Hagit Yakira, and Butoh master Natsu Nakajima amongst others.
In 2017, Tommy did an internship with Batsheva Dance Company in Israel.
Tommy completed a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London in 2018 with First Class Honours. Tommy studied as well at Institut del Teatre in Barcelona for several months in the Choreography and Performance course.
Originally from Switzerland, Tommy first graduated in a foundation course of dramatic art at the Conservatoire of Fribourg. During his first studies, Tommy has been taught fundamentals in drama and scenic creation, with particular interest on physical theatre. All these influences have always played an important part in Tommy's artistic development toward scenic and performative creations.
In 2018, Tommy was awarded by the Simone Michelle Award for outstanding achievements in Choreography by Trinity Laban.
